While I’m waiting (a long time) for my PCIe SCORPION DELUXE hard drive I have been reading a few article on this drive.
One thing I was reading up on was secure erasing this hard drive.
Posted on this forum is a post about using Parted Magic.
I went to the Parted Magic web site and it looks like that software is doing a zero fill when doing a secure erase.
I have read that any SSD HD should not be zero filled.
I have been using OCZ Revo drives for the past three years OCZ has its own secure erase program it takes about 5 seconds to erase a 240 GB drive.
Does Muskin have or will have in the near future any program of their own?
Thanks

Hi,

Parted Magic secure erases the same as the toolbox does, but you cannot secure erase the Scorpion Deluxe.
The command won't go through the LSI controller.
To erase the Scorpion Deluxe you need to delete the raid array in the LSI BIOS. That resets the drives

Delete raid array that removes everything on the hard drive for ever?
