I'm getting ready to sell a pair of 120GB Mushkin Chronos drives & would like to know if it's possible to calculate the remaining theoretical life from the drive writes???
Part of the S.M.A.R.T. data appears to have been wiped when I updated the firmware on these drives. They were used in a RAID-0 configuration for 2 years & have been sitting unused for the past year.

Here's Crystal Disk Info 6.1.14 data from one of the drives: Host Read / Write at the top right of the image seems about right, as does Power On Hours, but Power on count is WAY off, should be roughly between 200 & 300.

Surely, after more than 2TB of writes, the drive should be somewhere under 100% life remaining right ???

Hi,

That drive has a long way to go before the NAND is worn out, like a 120GB can have like 58TBW for warranty purposes.

What I would use in your case is SSD Life, it will provide a nice looking GUI that the potential buyer can see how many years/months/days left.

Looks like it could be neat, but trial version is only reading my C: drive, & not secondary SSD's. But you've given me what I was after, a rough estimate, so thank you!

Figured out why it wasn't showing up in SSD-Life. Somehow the Marvell controller switched from SATA to SCSI mode between last night & this morning. Got that fixed & it's showing now :)

Ohh ok, probably the SCSI driver blocking it.

Good to hear you got it working now. :)
