Hi,

As stated, i bought a 996988 kit, sticker on the modules or the box confirm this (9-9-9-24 1.35V).
But when i installed it on my system (Intel i5-3470 and Asus P8Z77-M) in BIOS i found that XMP profile
has different specification (8-9-8-24 1.6V).

When i manually set frequency to 1600MHz, voltage to 1.35V and left timings on auto, MBO has set timings
from XMP profile (of which i was unaware) and after half of hour i got a BSOD.
Then i manually set memory to 9-9-9-24, 1600MHz and 1.35V.
I haven't tested it with MemTest yet, but so far i had no problems.

Inspecting the memory with CPU-Z showed that the kit is in fact 996989 (XMP prfile matches with its specification).

So, my question is: do i have the wrong XMP profile on my memory, or wrong "stickers" (i.e. memory)?
Thanks in advance!

P.S. I can provide pictures / screenshots as proof if necessary.

Hi,

If the memory is running Memtest error free at 9-9-9 @ DDR3-1600 1.35V it sounds like the incorrect XMP profile has been put on the modules.
It won't harm anything to have the 996989 XMP on the modules you'll just have to set manually.

The secondaries are the same, both the kits are DDR3-1600.
Only the primaries and voltages are different.
