I'm using the 997123 kit on a new build Asrock z77 extreme 6 motherboard with latest bios revision and a i5 3570k oc to 4.5. Prime95 runs for hours at 1600 and 1866 using 75% of memory with loose timings with no problems, so I know the memory is good.

I also have no problems booting with the memory at 2400 and the 11 13 13 31 timings, it just errors out within like 2 minutes on blend 75% p95. I've tried the auto xmp profile, and upped the vtt voltage to like 1.203 and the vccsa up to 1.2, but I am a little nervous about going higher than that on the vtt. I'm ok with a little looser timings if that's what it takes, since it looks like a lot of people are having problems with Asrock z77 extreme series and mushkin memory over 2000 mhz.

I really like the ram and I don't want to rma, so I'm curious if you guys can help me out or post some suggestions, more specific timings to get me operating stable at 2400.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Any difference between 1T and 2T?
Does 2133 work correctly?
Any difference if you lower the CPU overclock(just to test)?

At work now, so I'll have to test later today.

2133 was still giving me the same rounding errors with like 11 13 13 28 timings or something around that. What should I try it at? Just auto settings?

Also their was not any difference when the cpu overclock was at stock, it still did the same rounding errors at 2133 and 2400 mhz, I didn't test extensively around 2000 though. I'll run some Prime95 at stock clocks again just for my peace of my mind. Memory passed multiple memory tests I used last week when I thought it might be bad memory. Memtest, and a few other diagnostics all showed up clean.

It's ok to do 2T with only two sticks? And how does that affect the ram speed overall, for example would some settings at 1866 1T be faster or slower than some timings at 2T 2000-2400. I'll play around with it when I get home and update again.

2T would be a bit slower than 1T, but 2133+ at 2T would be faster than 1866 at 1T

If you were getting errors at 2133 try setting the advanced timings like this

tWR 16
tRFC 171
tRRD 7
tWTR 8
tRTP 8
tFAW 32
tCWL 10
