I did a test with Xbench (a free online app to test drive speed) here are the results (check file attached). Am I reading that right? Is about half the speed it should be?

Here is my post in the apple forums on this subject:
I did a little (ok well maybe a lot) research. Here was the solution...I went into 'disk utilities' and reformatted my flash drive from MS-DOS to Mac OS...bam! done. The drive is about half as fast at the read and write speeds but much faster then before I reformatted. I transfered my entire iphoto library (44.7 GB, 10,756 files including 165 videos) here are the numbers:

Transfer from iMac to flash drive: 22 minutes - before reformatting: 1 hour 44 minutes!!! and yes USB 3.0 !!!

Transfer from flash drive back to iMac: 8 minutes 30 seconds

Hi,

Have you tried benching the drive with BlackMagic to see what you get with it?

With these drives best speeds are obtained when they are formatted to NTFS, of course NTFS is not an option if using a Mac.
