Hi MushkinSean! It's a 2012 Apple MacBook Air with OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
The good news is, it shows up with a hard disk logo. Other thumb drives have only an ordinary white logo.

The Apple support, which I asked for support on how to enable TRIM (or get any other improvement) for the Mushkin Ventura Ultra, told me to ask the USB stick vendor.

Hi Radeon89! It's occupied with about 50 GBs (of 240) right now. Unfortunately, I don't have any windows machine nearby. I can offer you some Linux speed test.

In linux, to get a similar output of CrystalDiskMark, you should use iozone with the following command:

iozone -e -I -a -s 100M -r 4k -r 512k -i 0 -i 1 -i 2

Please post here the results.

ps: performances drop should be not be related to the 50gb of files you have.

The real performance in Linux of the Mushkin Ventura Ultra is around 30 to 80 MB/s (w).

I returned it and wanted my money back.
As you can guess, there’re cheaper thumb drives, with similar performance and less power consumption. It becomes more than warm.
